Our Location

We are located at Tweed Heights Shops, at the top of the hills of Banora Point, just a short drive off the Highway, close to Tweed Heads and Coolangatta, Terranora and Bilambil Heights. There is plenty of parking available and a range of great services, cafes and shops nearby. We would love to welcome all new patients to our practice.

Demetrio Pina Neto – Principal Dentist

Dr Demetrio is a naturally compassionate practitioner who graduated from the Sao Paulo City University (Brazil) in 2002. He has completed post-graduate training in Periodontics, Dental Implants, Oral Surgery, and Restorative Dentistry.

Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dr Demetrio became enthusiastic about dentistry while watching his older sister thrive in her dental career, and how she could help her patients and improve their health.

“I always wanted to be involved in a profession where I am helping people. I have found a particular passion for the challenges of diagnosis and problem-solving in dentistry. I love what I do, and I love being around professionals who are excited and passionate about their work.”

With experience working in clinical settings throughout Australia and Brazil, treating patients from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, ages and needs, Dr Demetrio always keeps in mind the impact oral health has on the whole body. He deeply enjoys sharing his knowledge and educate his patients on the importance of maintaining a healthy smile and achieve successful long-term outcomes.

He thoroughly enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in dental implants, periodontics, dental surgery and cosmetic dentistry. He continually advances his dental knowledge and skills through various continuing education courses. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS).

Dr Demetrio has a keen interest in sharing his knowledge and techniques. He is actively involved in teaching about dental implants via lectures and hands-on courses. Since 2019, Dr Demetrio has partnered with Neoss Dental Implants and provides training and mentoring to clinicians interested in striving in dental implants.

He migrated to Australia in 2011 with his family and settled in Melbourne before relocating to South East Queensland in 2015, seeking a more balanced work-family lifestyle in a warmer, beautiful environment.

His interests outside dentistry are music, reading, football, archery, and chess. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends at the beach, doing outdoor activities and travelling. Dr Demetrio also speaks Portuguese and is always trying to learn more Spanish.

Dr Querelle Wijenbergh

Dr Querelle is one of our exceptional senior dentists. If you have not had the chance to meet him, you will instantly be calmed by his warm personality and soothing Dutch accent.

Besides being a fantastic dentist that genuinely cares for his patients, Querelle has had many years of training and experience both in the Netherlands and Australia.

His friendly nature puts even the most anxious of our patients at ease, and he is happy to be of service to help you with all your dental problems.

Sonia Powell – Practice Manager

Sonia is our very efficient and friendly practice manager. But she is not just “a” practice manager. With over 15 years working in the dental industry, she has a broad and detailed knowledge of all areas of dental and surgical care. Having seen it all, she has also developed a great understanding of a patient’s needs, which helps to determine the best course of action for them.

She is usually the happy voice that answers the phone and greets you when arriving for your appointment – and often assists with all other aspects of the practice, from sterilisation to nursing, being a vital link in our team.

Sonia is here to look after you every step of the way: organising your appointments, arranging suitable payment options, explaining your treatment plan and answering questions you may have.

Sonia has a very close-knit family and enjoys spending any spare time around them. She enjoys playing ping-pong, yoga and snorkelling and loves a good rom-com movie while enjoying a nice cup of tea.
